About Us
The KittiesMama channel was started by a mom of 3 kids and 4 kitties. It’s a FAMILY channel, owned by all 5 of us; Mommy, Daddy, Noah, Jonah, and Emma, we all contribute to ideas, filming etc. We try to upload 1 or 2 videos weekly … please subscribe to our youtube channel (links in the header and sidebar) so you don’t miss out on the next one! 
There are basically 3 different types of videos that we produce for our channel; Emma’s beauty videos, weekly family vlogs, and scripted skits.
Our most popular type of videos are Emma’s beauty related videos. Emma started doing these at 6 years old. We had just started using our YouTube account. Even though we had our account since 2008, we really didn’t use it very much until we noticed the Small Talk contest while on the site uploading a video for the kids’ grandma, which many of you may know the kids call Baba. When Jonah uploaded his Small Talk video it got quite a few views, so Emma wanted to upload a video but she didn’t know what kind of video she wanted to do. So I (Mommy) suggested makeup, because mostly what I was watching on YouTube was makeup tutorials and Emma had never put on makeup. I thought it was a formula for a super cute video! To my surprise she was actually pretty good, so she did more and more … well and the rest is history as they say.
The weekly family vlogs we started January 2011. We did not want to copy other family vloggers on YouTube and wanted to start a new style of vlogging, and make our videos more like watching a reality show. These videos have brought our family closer in this short year we’ve been doing them, and we really appreciate all the encouragement we get from our viewers. We would love to be known like Shaytards are, that would be super awesome, although unlikely. We are very happy with what the vlogs have done for our channel and for our family, and we’re very grateful to our subscribers that keep on continuin’ (an Emma word for those new to our videos) to watch us every week.
Another type of videos that we produce are our skits. Mini-Celebrities is a scripted episodic skit that we do in collaboration with All4tubekids. Other skits are uploaded on a random basis, you never know when we’re going to do an awesome “bonus” video. Did you know that “Emma Dyes her Brother’s Hair” was the first skit? Many people take this video as a real tutorial video and get all bent out of shape in the comments section. This was Daddy’s idea for the next time Mommy highlighted Jonah’s hair, to film and edit it like Emma did it and without permission no less. If you look at our early videos you see the “no parents” theme throughout, for example “World’s Best Brownies.” It’s also the reason why we focused our weekly vlogs on the kids instead of us parents.
We are also a loving Christian family, while not perfect by any means, we hope we’re a good example to other families or to young people who someday will be running their own households.
